Welcome to East Nashville!
Though touted as a very hip and trendy neighborhood in Nashville, the Eastside is also honored as an established and cherished community of locals. Gaining fame for its live music, outdoor festivals and well-established locals hangouts, East Nashville has become the spot for young newcomers to make their home.
Traditionally considered an affordable, tucked away neighborhood, many who have settled here are today shocked by the increases in home values and extreme demand for inclusion into this cultural epicenter. With many single-family homes on quarter-acre lots the high demand for housing has led to controversial increases in development. Many long-standing residents voice concerns over the types of developments that are most prominent in these areas. Because East Nashville has such a strong sense of character newcomers are welcomed warmly by the locals with the understanding that they adapt to the eccentricities and values of the natives.
Some of those values seem to include but are not limited to: • Enjoying happy hour live music on the outdoor patios of local venues such as Drifter’s in Five Points • Not pestering the police with noise complaints for neighborhood House Shows. • Enjoying the creative use of found objects for lawn decorations • ...and... the use of vibrant paints as a home's outward expression of its inner life... East Nashville it's a fun place.
