Welcome to Inglewood, a sub-neighborhood of East Nashville with a history and personality all its own. This welcoming neighborhood offers the same creative vibes as East Nashville proper, but with a more suburban feel and larger, quieter lots. Despite its peaceful residential feel, this area is home to some of the city’s best restaurants and bars.
Welcome to East Nashville, a streetcar suburb that’s grown into an eclectic creative community known as a haven for artists and musicians. As the city’s first neighborhood to be listed on the National Historic Register, you’ll find historic buildings alongside modern homes. This walkable area offers urban conveniences with plenty of green space to enjoy.
Welcome to Germantown, a historic neighborhood just north of Downtown known for the arts, food, and dogs. Whether you’re in an antique Victorian home a modern apartment or a repurposed warehouse, some of the city’s best restaurants and entertainment are an easy walk from your door.
8 miles north of downtown Nashville, this suburb has a lot to love without sacrificing your access to the rest of Music City. It offers some of the same charm as - and easy access to - its neighbor, East Nashville, without the steep price tag. Most of the homes in Madison were built between 1940 and 1969, but you’ll find both older and newer homes throughout this well established neighborhood. Larger lots offer room to spread out without the sticker shock of neighborhoods like Green Hills.
Whether or not you choose to live in Green Hills, you’ll likely find yourself there at some point during your Nashville residency. This high-end area is encircled by several other popular neighborhoods, sharing a border with 12 South, Hillsboro, Berry Hill, Forest Hills, Belle Meade, and Sylvan Park. The heart of the neighborhood is the dense commercial district that runs the length of Hillsboro Pike and includes the Mall at Green Hills, a movie theatre, restaurants, and the city’s only Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s grocery stores.
Wedgewood Houston, also known as We-Ho or So-Ho - is in the midst transforming from an industrial pocket into a thriving arts community. Situated conveniently close to Downtown Nashville, The Gulch, 12th South, Belmont and the interstate, this arts community developed, as many do, from the coupled combinations of four, fortuitous factors: proximity to a teeming metropolis, a bounty of affordable housing, mixed-use, industrial warehouses that are easily transformed into studio space and its tucked-in, inclusive community vibe.
If you drive around The Nations neighborhood enough, you’ll eventually but pass by the iconic ‘Est. 1913 The Nations’ retro sign off 51st Avenue. This sign is the remnants of a long closed business and as far as anyone knows, the only namesake of this modernizing community. For years this mixed residential / industrial area along the western rail lines, was referred to simply as West Nashville.
Like the classic Main Streets of yesteryear, 12th Avenue South is aglow with prosperity and neighborly charm. Pedestrian-friendly streets are adorned with sidewalk chalk, balloons, shimmering lights and ice cream splatters. As if the comforts of the iconic 1950’s were modernized to taste, the 12 South neighborhood reflects the peaceful opulence and warmth of simpler times.
Tucked in between Historic Music Row and Downtown, The Gulch is a convenient and exciting place for young professionals to live, work and play. Several condominium buildings silhouette the skyline along the perimeter of this progressive commercial district, allowing residents the ease of living in a mixed-use community.
If you’re looking for the urban center of Nashville, Midtown is the place to explore. It’s a varied and action-packed neighborhood, containing within it Centennial Park, Vanderbilt University, several of the largest medical centers in Nashville, and some of the best nightlife in town - not to mention a decent chunk of Music Row.
